Tasting notes
A limited micro-vinification lot. The winery publishes no tasting note for this release, and since every Partida Limitada is a one-off, its character shifts from year to year. We would rather let the glass speak than borrow a description from a different vintage.
Pairs with
- Grilled Patagonian ribeye (bife de ancho)
- Asado-style beef short ribs from the parrilla
- Rosemary lamb chops
- Venison or wild boar stew
- Aged hard cheeses
Where it comes from
Staphyle is based in Agrelo, part of Luján de Cuyo – the historic heart of Mendoza, just south of the city. Its Finca Familia Porretta vineyard lies at around 950 metres at the foot of the Andes, where a dry, sunny climate brings warm days followed by cool nights, letting grapes ripen fully while holding on to freshness. Partida Limitada is the winery's experimental line: small micro-vinification lots made once and never repeated in quite the same way. This release is Petit Verdot, a Bordeaux grape that usually plays a minor supporting part in blends and is seldom given the stage on its own. In Mendoza it takes the lead – exactly the kind of exploration this line was created for.
A small lot from a micro-vinification, made as a unique, unrepeatable release.
