De dónde viene
Staphyle is based in Agrelo, part of Luján de Cuyo, one of Mendoza's oldest wine districts, just south of the city of Mendoza. The region is a dry inland area at the foot of the Andes, where vineyards are irrigated with snowmelt and enjoy strong sunshine and cool nights. This lets the grapes ripen fully and gain colour while keeping their freshness. Malbec is Mendoza's signature grape and the backbone of Argentine wine, but Cabernet Sauvignon is the region's other great red variety and has long roots in Luján de Cuyo. Compared with Bordeaux it tends to be riper and softer in tannin, while keeping the variety's peppery, tobacco-tinged profile. The Staphyle Premium range is built around French oak ageing, which brings vanilla notes and the structure to stand up to hearty food.
Aged in French oak barrels.
