De dónde viene
Iris is the line Staphyle reserves for young, fresh varietal wines, and the winery names it as a tribute to the water and sky of Mendoza. Both matter here: Mendoza is a high desert at the foot of the Andes, where vineyards depend on meltwater from the mountains and grapes ripen under intense, almost constant sunshine. This Malbec comes from Luján de Cuyo, the historic district just south of the city of Mendoza and one of the country's oldest Malbec areas. The grape arrived from France in the 19th century and found in Mendoza's dry climate and cool nights conditions that suited it so well it became Argentina's signature variety. This bottling shows its youthful side: fruit and freshness first, with only a short rest in bottle before release.
Rested six months in bottle before release.
