De dónde viene
Each year Staphyle sets aside a few small lots, vinifies them separately and never repeats them in exactly the same form. That is the Partida Limitada series; this Cabernet Franc runs to about 5,000 bottles. The fruit comes from Finca Familia Porretta in Agrelo, a district of Luján de Cuyo just south of the city of Mendoza and one of Argentina's longest-established wine areas. The vineyard sits at 950 metres at the foot of the Andes, where strong sunshine alternates with cool nights. Mendoza is essentially desert, so the vines, about 25 years old and planted on clay and sand, are drip-irrigated with Andean meltwater. Picking was done by hand in the second week of March, early autumn in the southern hemisphere.
Hand-harvested grapes fermented for 20 days in stainless steel with traditional maceration, followed by 12 months in new 225-litre oak barrels.
